Warm Yin Yoga -
Yin Yoga is a quiet contemplative class that consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that work deeply into the connective tissues and fascia of the body. Postures are held typically from three - five minutes (sometimes longer) allowing for deep stretching and relaxation. Yin Yoga combines classic yoga, the concept of the meridians in Chinese medicine, Taoist philosophy and Buddhist meditation techniques.
Yin poses are still, deep, and quiet. The atmosphere of a Yin Yoga class is unhurried, internal, and relaxed, with a focus on self-exploration and discovery. Students are encouraged to experiment with the poses, since skeletal variation—the proportion and orientation of the bones—is different for each person. Alignment is everything—and not the same for every body. Understanding how anatomical differences affect joint mobility helps students to appreciate their own unique range of motion.
Yin classes 60 minutes long. The room is 80- 85 degrees.
Prenatal and Postpartum Yoga
